What To Know About Mi-Ki Puppies

By Anita Ortega

Mi-Ki is a breed of toy dog that is believed to originate from Asia. It has been around in America since the 1980s. This animal is believed to share ancestry with Japanese Chin, Maltese and Papillon breeds. Me-key is the correct pronunciation. Mi-Ki puppies are a popular dog choice for many pet owners around the world.

The dog has an apple-domed head. It has a short and wide muzzle, and a well-defined spot where the muzzle meets with the skull. Its eyes are set far apart, and large and round in shape and size. The nose is usually medium in size, flat and has wide nostrils. Typically it is black in color, but it might also be brown or another color for lighter dogs. The ears are considered mobile, as they can drop or become erect. These may also be feathered and the dogs are known for winging ears to show excitement.

Usually these are affectionate, clam and sweet by nature. They engage in low-to-moderate activity from day to day and are known for being smart. Usually they are alert and friendly creatures, which makes them an ideal breed for those who are handicapped. This is also true because of their laid-back personality and lack of barking. They might make yodeling or twittering sounds from time to time.

This is a breed that loves people, even if they are strangers. It has an temperament that is relatively even, which makes it ideal as a guide dog. These animals are not considered to be overly aggressive and are not usually intimated by the presence of other digs. The animal can adapt and is a great pet for that reason.

These animals are great pets for people who live in apartments, condos or other small corridors. They are easy to train and may even learn how to use a litter box. The animal is capable of adjusting to various climates and loves to spend time in the outdoors. It can also be quite healthy and happy if it has a small yard where it can run and play. Daily walks are generally recommended.

These animals are expected to live into their teens. They do not have many health problems. However, those with shorter muzzles are at high risk of respiratory issues. This is particularly true for older dogs. The teeth of the dogs require frequent cleaning. Mi-Kis usually have excessive hair growth between their toes, which can trap dirt. Having the feet and face of the dog shaved on a regular basis can make it easier to keep them healthy and clean.

It is worth noting that every dog will be different. Although these animals are not known for being aggressive or bad, it might depend on how they are handled by the owners. Those who are not confident, consistent and firm might notice behavior issues as a result.

When they are not permitted to serve as the leader of the pack to humans, they can develop issues. Some of the most common problems that might result from this: separation anxiety, destructiveness, guarding, barking at strangers, snapping and biting, and more. These issues are not specific to this breed. They can affect any kind if there is a lack of leadership from the owner.
