Blue bolt shrimps are great animals if the person knows the right process of taking care of them. It provides a good addition to an aquarium due to its small nature, beautiful colors and not picky when eating a food. They eat mostly anything they can get their mouth on. They relatively spend their time in scavenging algae in the surfaces of the tanks. Owners will still have to offer food for them at least once a day. When it concerns with extreme blue bolt shrimp, owners must be knowledgeable in handling this delicate species to survive in the tank.

Setting up a shrimp tank is not easy, choose the ones that will suit you. There are many species of shrimps to pick from when making the tank. The shrimp need more special treatment rather than fishes. It needs to have a good water quality to make sure that they will survive.

Test the chlorine levels. If there is chlorine detected in the water, then individuals should use a commercial equipment that will remove and eliminate the chlorine. Ammonia and nitrate levels must be absolutely zero. Pet stores have treatment kits that will help in reducing the levels of ammonia and nitrate.

When adding the species, test first the temperature and quality of water. Even though the water has been tested during the cycling process, double check it again. Extreme temperature and poor water quality will kill the shrimps immediately. Double check and see if there is no more nitrates, ammonia and chlorine present in the aquarium.

Install a heater. Use a calculator to know the correct water heater to buy. It would be vital to have a water heater that is appropriate for the tank that you have. Consult the pet store to help identify the equipment needed. Put at least two heaters on each side of tanks to have a support in case the other one fails.

It is up to you what kind of environment will the shrimp will be living on. If you have the time in your hands, then choose a non planted type. That way, you will personally feed your pets and spend some time with them every day. However, if the individuals is busy with their work, they will not worry with a planted set up because the shrimps have something to eat.

Feed the shrimp. Even though an individual chooses a planted set up, they will still have to feed the animals once in a while to ensure that they receive all the nutrients they require. Vegetables that are boiled like spinach and zucchini is essential for their health.

Researching is the bets way to understand the different concepts of raising a blue bolt shrimp. This species is very delicate to take care of and needs special treatment. Owners must understand that there is absolutely no margin for mistake and it could result in a shrimps death. Therefore, try to gather as much information first before making a purchase.

Price will always be an issue. Blue bolt shrimp owners must have the finances prepared to purchase the right requirements when raising the species. They should be ready to provide the necessary needs of these shrimps in order for it to survive.
