Training Australian Labradoodle Therapy Dogs

By Judy Sullivan

Australian labradoodle therapy dogs are used mostly because of their keen sense of smell, and their loving temperament they are also calm animals. Of course we can not deny that they are just the most adorable dogs ever. Therapy dogs need special training. This training starts at a very young age, they usually start training service dogs as young as six weeks old.

These dogs are trained to do service work for several different things such as work with the blind, autism, senior citizens, and any other physical or mental handicap. The puppies that have a lot of human interaction are going to be the most compatible service animals. Breeders of service dogs usually can tell which puppies have the personalities and temperament to work with certain people with certain disabilities.

When you are picking a service dog you have to let the breeder of the dogs know what it is you expect from the therapy dog you are buying. You usually pick the therapy dog while it is still a puppy so that it can be trained to do all the things that you have requested of the breeder. If you want your therapy dog to do anything special the breeder will train your dog to do exactly what you want it to do.

You can even buy a service dog that can help diabetic children tell when they have low and high blood sugars. This can save a child's life. There are not many diabetic service dogs but they are becoming more popular because of how amazing they are and how many lives they have saved. Any therapy dog is trained so well that while it is working it does nothing but it's job. It does not play, bark, or run off.

Australian labradoodles are great service dogs. A therapy dog is a dog that has special training before it can be used as a therapy dog. These dogs go to prisons, adoption homes, hospitals, nursing homes and mental hospitals. The therapy dogs give people hope and life their spirits. Some people even believe that these dogs help sick people start to get well. This isn't proven but a lot of people do believe it.

Therapy dogs have to pass certain test or requirements in order to be a therapy dog. They must go through special training, be able to follow commands immediately, allowing strangers to touch and pet them, they must be able to stay calm in a noisy and chaotic situation, and they must be able to refrain from jumping up on people.

Since these dogs have such a good sense of smell they are great service dogs for people with seizures because these dogs can smell when a person is going to have a seizure so they can warn them. Of course they have to be trained to be able to do this. Some dogs can even be trained to bring medication to their owners if they are not able to get up to get it.

So if your in the market for a service dog you should consider Australian labradoodle therapy dogs. They are great with kids and have great temperaments. You would not regret your decision to use this type of dog for a therapy dog.
