How Can The Worst Dog Food Brands On The Market Affect My Pet

By Eula Nichols

When people decide to adopt a pet, they are making a huge decision in expanding their families. When it comes to puppies, while they will grow, they will remain at the level of a two-year-old child for the remainder of their lives. That means a great responsibility on the part of the owners. Nutrition must also be greatly considered because things aren't like they used to be. Below, discover the worst dog food brands on the market, and how they should be avoided like the plague.

Just as nutrition is crucial for good health in people, the same is true when it comes to providing a puppy with all the necessary nutrients to grow into a healthy adult. That said, this can only be achieved through the ingesting of top-notch ingredients. It is these nutrients that will maintain their optimum health and longevity.

Along with nutrition comes exercise, just as it is with humans, once again. It's plain to see that there isn't really a huge difference between our pets and ourselves. Both must eat right, get rest, and exercise.

Of course, our canine friends have different nutrient needs than people do, and those needs must be met accordingly in order to achieve and maintain optimum health. When it comes to dog food, there are a slew of brands and blends to choose from, so this decision must be made with careful thought. In fact, there is plenty of thought and science put into every blend by every manufacturer, to get things just right.

Having said that, it's plain to see that there are certain meals that are very inexpensive, while others can be double or triple the cost, for the same portion. Obviously, there is a reason for that, and it all lies in the quality. The more expensive blends cut out any harmful or questionable ingredients that could cause a pet grief in many ways.

Basically, they could be compared to our own foods. If people eat processed foods on a daily basis, there will be consequences. For one thing, there will be weight gain, but that's just the beginning. Aside from that, vital organs will be stressed, and begin to deteriorate. Chronic diseases may ensue.

The same is true when it comes to dogs and what they eat. The very inexpensive large bags found in pet stores and grocery stores alike, are often the equivalent of junk food, lacking extensively in nutrients. They are filled with ingredients that can put their risk of health, and ultimately reduce their longevity.

Unfortunately for pet owners who really care about their companions, the worst dog food brands have even been found to contain dangerous ingredients, and not meant for ingestion. Some of these popular manufacturers shifted their production plants abroad in an effort to increase profits, by cutting costs. That effort certainly backfired when these discoveries were made. Pet owners were left wondering what impact it may have had on their companions. Certainly, eating too much of the inferior brands will have an impact, possibly increasing visits to the veterinarian and thus, increasing expenses.
