Although the lifespan of English bulldog nine to twelve years with proper nutrition and good care, these dogs can live several years longer. Get some rubber toys. Chewing is very important for the development of the canine teeth. It is better that they chew rubber toys than your shoes or furniture. Your new puppy will probably be nervous and sad the first night in his new home. Wrap a ticking clock in some blanket to make things easier for him. Muffled ticking clock will calm him down.

Your dog will need at least two bowls, for his food and water. It is very important that you give him fresh water once or twice a day. The breeder will provide a written feeding sheet, and inform you about the type of food your puppy used to eat. For these first few days, give him the same food, until he adapts to his new home. After that, you can choose the best dog food for him.

Puppies should get small amounts of food frequently. They cannot digest larger amounts yet. You should give proper amount of food to your puppy and wait for maybe fifteen minutes. If he leaves some, remove and dispose it. Always give fresh food to your dog, but make sure he always have enough fresh water in his bowl.

Find a good vet and make sure that your puppy has received all the necessary vaccinations. Make sure he can not reach and chew different cables and plants inside. Check your fences and cover the pool before you leave your dog in your yard. Have patience and devote a lot of love and care for your little pet. Use his name very often, so he could remember it.
