Dog Boarding And Training Colorado Springs And Elsewhere

By Enid Hinton

When it comes to pet owners, there is generally a time someone other than the owner will need to care for the pet. Lucky Dog Boarding and Training and others in the area can help provide these services. As the area is quite popular with residents and visitors, there are also a number of other kennels, boarding and training options. Online reviews of Lucky Dog Boarding and Training Colorado Springs, CO and others can offer a great deal of insight as to which are the best resorts in any given area.

Colorado is one state in which this is the case. In 2003, Denver, gathered up all dogs considered dangerous and euthanized same, even those which had been family pets for years without incident. As such, pet owners may want to avoid boarding any of these breeds anywhere in Colorado, or in other areas in which such bans are in place.

Lucky provides a variety of services which help care for, and comfort your pet while away from home, or when simply feeling ill and unable to care for pets. These services include pet sitting, boarding, training and rescues. Unlike other kennels, in which pets are left to tend to themselves, Lucky provides an active pet sitter to care for pets.

Before boarding a pet at a corporate store, like PetSmart, it is important to realize the pet will not be able to go outside. So, when planning on a longer stay, it is especially good to look for an independent kennel or resort. It should also be noted that prices are often similar, and pets often get a great deal more love and attention in a pet resort type setting than a pet store.

Sadly, Denver and other areas in the state have now banned pit bulls and associated breeds. Whereas, dobermans, rottweilers, and others are also on the dangerous dog watch list in many areas. While labeled as a dangerous breed, it should be noted that any animal can be brought up to be kind, or mean, same with most humans.

In areas in which these breeds are not banned, most resorts will allow all dogs to participate in group play. That is, as long as the dog is up to date on shots, and in good health. Different facilities have different requirements as to which vaccines are required to stay at the facility. As such, it is often good to call a facility in advance to inquire about these and other requirements for a pet to board at the location.

Pet owners also need to have a local and long distance phone number so that if any vet services are needed, the office has a way to contact the pet owner. In some cases, a resort will make an allowance in an upfront contract as to how much an owner is willing to spend if services were needed during a stay. These amounts can often range from a limit of $500-1000 dollars.

Independent resorts often accept most breeds; Though, there are those which do not. Generally, it is good to visit any facility in which one plans on boarding a pet in advance of a stay. At which time, one can also inquire about any banned breeds, programs, services and tour the facility.
