Also in general, deeper and darker hues will tend to retain their colors as compared to lighter ones in the long run.

These two materials will tend to become rigid and brittle in extreme cold and hot temperatures and shifting from hot to cold and vice versa. Thus durability in the long run is very much in question in the long run. However, this is very much less of a problem for polyester weave items which stand up to extreme temperatures rather well.

A good leash and collar set will not set you back hundreds of dollars, in fact you can get these quite cheap. Beware however of imitation brands that come out of Asia, which are just replicas of the real thing but cheaper. More likely than not it will break and there is no way you can get your money back. Always go for good old American or European made items for the materials mentioned in the construction of these accessories are exclusively made in these two continents and nowhere else. Most replicas will not be odor resistant and will be apparent after a few days use.

Collars, especially the waterproof kind, are said to be easy to break. This is a possibility if the collar is smaller than it should be. You should be able to fit two fingers between the neck of your dog and the collar for you to gauge a proper fit. Smaller than this and it will put too much stress on the collar and it will lessen its lifespan. Not to mention, a smaller collar will mean greater discomfort for your four legged companion, which is definitely not good or even welcomed.
