Newfie Puppies, And The Fury Joy They Bring

By Angela Thomas

Pets can be cute, even beautiful, that is why people fall in love with them. But owning them requires responsibility. You cannot just leave them lying around everywhere, eventually finding them lost or sick. Puppies can especially be very adorable.

But of course, they cannot stay like that for very long. That is why, you have to think very carefully about the idea of having newfie puppies. They can be very demanding, because they need proper care and attention. If you cannot commit yourself for everything that comes with having them until they become dogs, then you will have problems.

However they are not for everybody. While they may have traits that you will find endearing, they also have some that you may, at one point or another, find unpleasant or downright disgusting. If you think you cannot tolerate it, you may be better off with a cat.

The origin of the Newfoundland is not really very clear. Some people believes that they were once brought to this Canadian province which later on earned them the name, by some European fishermen. Others think that this is native to the area where they have arrived.

But it will not remain a puppy for long. It grows to be something that can take up a lot of space in your house and car that you might not be willing to share. They an grow so big and so fast, you would not believe it. Within a few months, the cuddly black cutie of a pup you carried home is surprisingly a large dog, that still wants to remain a baby.

Remember to get it trained as early as possible, so that you will not end up with a big dog that you would find hard to control. Usually, your veterinarian will be the one to give you a heads up when it is okay for training. This breed are generally intelligent and willing to learn with people.

Expect a good amount of fun and bonding with your pup during training sessions. Because they are sweet dogs, socialize yours by taking it anywhere, as early as possible. This way, it can quickly grow accustomed to its surroundings and your area. This will also help you keep it in control when it is time to go out or to the vet.

By exposing it, you are giving your pet a chance to experience many different situations. It will then learn to accept and tolerate any kind of situation, with any type of animals and people. Thus, it gives you more time, because you do not have to fuss over it being with others, or getting in trouble with other pets.

Remember to also let it sleep next to you when it is still little. Yes, they need that too, as babies does. Because the puppy is technically still a baby. You need to give as much time and care as you can. Even in training, it will come running to you, as it considers no other pack leader. Getting a newfie can seem so simple and fun. But not when you do not want to be dedicated to it, as how it can get dedicated to you.
