To Find Siberian Cats Florida Is The Way To Go

By Pamela Scott

The Siberian cat is also formally known as the Siberian Forest Cat. It refers to a landrace type of domesticated cats. The taiga of Siberia is the origin of the cat. This region is a forested part with a climate that is subarctic. The cat has a long, bushy, protective coat, which is thought to have been resulted because of the subarctic weather. These species has been existing on the Russian subcontinent for more than 1000 years. When one needs Siberian cats Florida offers a good location to visit.

The first Siberian cat to be imported into the United States entered the country in 1990 and in 1996 the breed was officially recognized by the International cat Association. In 1999, the American cat fanciers Association accepted the breed followed in 2006 by the Cat fanciers Association after a period of seven years. It has always been thought that breed is hypoallergenic, something that has led to its popularity increasing a lot in the recent years.

The hypoallergenic quality of Siberians might or might not be true. The decision usually lies with the individual who have come in contact with the animal. However, there is a lot of ongoing research towards confirming the hypoallergenic claim and enhancing it if possible. There are many research organizations around the world that are involved in the research. There are also claims that the amount of Fel d1 produced by the cat is lesser compared to other non-hypoallergenic cats.

Siberians have warm hearts even if they come from very cold regions of Russia. They show people, especially their owners plenty of love. They tend to keep following people everywhere. They also settle down to provide company as one watches TV, reads, prepares meals, sleeps, sits, or does anything inside the home. Thus they are good companions.

When one comes home, they like waiting at the door and welcoming them into the house. They vocalize gently to symbolize happiness. They do not shy away from strangers. Thus, one can expect the cat to show up even when there are guests in the house.

Loving and attentiveness are not the only traits of Siberians. They exhibit activeness and playfulness. They often initiate games by bringing the owner a toy to throw. Most of their games are done with small objects. Therefore, valuable objects such as jewelry should be kept out of their reach so that they do not play with them. Their intelligence allows them to be taught tricks.

Surprisingly, Siberian cats find water very enjoyable. This quality may be as a result of the way they leave in the wild by hunting for fish in water. They enjoy splashing water in tubs, making puddles by batting their paws in water, and drinking from fountains. They are quite agile and athletic due to the hunter instincts they possess.

The amount of care needed by the breed is moderate. Tangles and mats should not be allowed to form in the coat. This may be prevented by combing and brushing weekly. Fall and spring are the seasons for shedding hence grooming should also be done more frequently.
