Coming with either blue or green eyes, fur of the Bengal has the trademark rosette and striped patterns that it is known for which are in turn highlighted by brown colored and snow colored spots. Fur colors can take on several shades of silver, sepia or mint.

These cats are still wild and retain many wildcat characteristics and traits until well into the third generation litter. The most common variety of Bengal that one will see is the short haired variety, and if you Google this breed it is usually the short haired variety that is shown. There does however a long haired version that exists, and was developed in New Zealand. This variety is called the Cashmere and has still to be recognized internationally as a valid breed on its own.

As was mentioned earlier, this cat loves water. Thus it does not pose any foreseeable problem when one decides to give it regular baths. It is also suggested that its coat be given a once weekly combing or brushing, not only to maintain it, but to also strengthen between cat and master. Having a good bond is what makes up for a good and lasting companionship between pet and master.
